As a teacher, speaker, and strengths-based performance coach, Daniel Lerner is an expert in positive and performance psychologies. His key message is that developing a healthy (and happy!) psychological state has a profound impact on the pursuit of excellence—and he brings this uplifting message to students, established and high-potential performing artists and athletes, and numerous Fortune 500 companies and executives. His first book U Thrive: How to Succeed in College (and Life), co-authored with Alan Schlechter, will be published in April 2017 by Little, Brown, and Company.

Lerner is a faculty member at New York University and part of the teaching staff at the University of Pennsylvania (where he works with the graduate program in Applied Positive Psychology). In the classroom and in his talks, Lerner integrates storytelling, humor, and science, helping students and executives apply his teachings into their lives with immediate benefit. His class “The Science of Happiness” is currently the largest and most popular non-required course at New York University—in great part due to the positive changes that students report throughout the semester.

A Toronto native, Sarena has built the majority of her 10-year career in advertising and marketing here in Canada. She has held a variety of roles across categories, including 5 years of agency strategy experience and most recently 3 years at Facebook. During her career she has worked with a roster of incredible brands, including TD Bank, American Express, McDonald’s, L’Oréal Paris, Nestlé, and more. During her strategic tenure with these iconic brands, she produced award-winning work – receiving a Media Innovation Award in Online Experience, and professional achievements such as Marketing Mag’s Top 30 under 30, and AMA’s Marketer on the Rise.

Most recently, Sarena left Facebook Canada and became the head of marketing at BUNZ, an up-and-coming Canadian startup with a big vision. BUNZ helps you know what’s going on in your area and find the things that you need. The key was reorganizing information based on commonality and locale, rather than simply limiting a person’s reach to whom they happen to know. On BUNZ, you can declutter your apartment, find a new roommate, or learn about the pop-up market or concert happening in your neighbourhood, all in one place. Over the last 6 months, her team has tackled obstacles such as growth hacking, re-branding, and migrating hundreds of Facebook groups and tens of thousands of people on to the BUNZ platform.

Rahul Raj leads change. He discovers and realizes the untapped potential of people, brands and businesses.

Rahul builds winning brands. As the VP of Marketing & E-Commerce, he developed a challenger brand strategy that transformed ecobee from relative obscurity to the #2 thermostat brand in North America with only a $300k marketing budget. As a result, sales doubled every fiscal and ecobee’s run rate accelerated to 1,000,000 thermostats a year.

Rahul is a serial innovator. As the Director of Sustainability + Merchandising Innovation at Walmart.com, he developed a refurbishing infrastructure for Walmart US stores that helped turned turn costly customer returns into a lucrative revenue stream. For these efforts, he was honoured with Walmart’s Innovation Champion Award and, a fellowship with the Aspen Institute, and by GOOD magazine as 1 of 100 people pushing the world forward.

Rahul is a social entrepreneur. He founded and developed Meal Exchange, mobilizing students to achieve a more secure and sustainable food system on campuses and in communities across Canada.
